  • 2009 F1 Drivers Lineup Updated Again
Posted on Friday, February 6th, 2009 in Featured F1 News – Comments: (0)
Toro Rosso has finally let Sebastien Bourdais off of his roller coaster ride and confirmed him as driving for them in 2009. That means the drivers lineup is all but set for this season, but we still don’t know what is happening with Honda and Jenson Button. So here’s the drivers lineup for 2009 as it stands now.
  • BMW Sauber Day 1 in Bahrain
Posted on Tuesday, February 10th, 2009 in 2008-2009 Winter Testing – Comments: (1)
Testing once again for BMW Sauber. This time it is Bahrain where weather they expect to be better than in Jerez. With testing at a minimum this year, having a successful session is more important than ever before. That said Robert Kubica took the car today and was delayed 2 hours because of fog on the course. Once the fog lifted it was on to testing.

  • BMW Sauber F1.06 – F1.08 Series: F1.08
Posted on Sunday, January 4th, 2009 in Team News – Comments: (5)
The 101 points in 2007 with a very good F1.07 once again had the designers and engineers working overtime to produce an even better car and aerodynamics and balance were once again at the top of the list.”Our aim was to build a car with impressive aerodynamic efficiency, but which also boasted a very stable aero balance,” he said. “This means that it hardly loses any downforce when the wheels are turned in, and thus gives the driver a lot of confidence.

  • A lot of Competition for BMW Sauber in 2009
Posted on Monday, December 1st, 2008 in Team News – Comments: (3)
Can BMW Sauber challenge for the championship next year with either Robert Kubica or Nick Heidfeld? A better question I ask myself is what will the competition be like? We know 2009 is a new year with incredible rule changes that may or may not affect some teams level of competitiveness.I am not really worried about the grid hierarchy changing in 2009 and in that respect can BMW Sauber challenge for the championship in only their 4th year?
  • BMW Confirms Commitment to F1
Posted on Friday, December 5th, 2008 in Team News – Comments: (6)
Statement from Dr. Klaus Draeger, member of the BMW AG Board of Management on Honda withdrawal from Formula One .”It is with regret that we learnt of Honda’s decision. It has no bearing on BMW’s involvement in Formula One.Our F1 involvement is an integral part of the company strategy. There is no better platform than Formula One for demonstrating our brand values.
  • Could it Have Been Avoided?
Posted on Friday, December 5th, 2008 in Featured F1 News – Comments: (5)
The news of Honda pulling out of F1 has shocked the motorsports world this morning, but as we know, this has been brewing for a while now and indications something was wrong came to light in the last week when the team frantically began cutting what seemed like frivolous events. Yesterday many other F1 teams saw a rash of requests for employment from employees of Honda F1 so the writing was on the wall then.
  • Nick Heidfeld – Slicks the Difference Not Aero
Posted on Thursday, December 11th, 2008 in 2008-2009 Winter Testing – Comments: (3)
The new aero rules have for the most part centered our attention to the shovel like front wing and the high narrow rear wing and are what us fans are talking about the most. KERS is another new addition talked about quite a bit and rounding up the talk is slicks. According to Nick Heidfeld, slicks are the biggest difference in handling of the car and not the new aero package.
  • Should BMW or Mercedes Bail Out the German Grand Prix?
Posted on Thursday, December 4th, 2008 in Featured F1 News – Comments: (4)
BMW as well as the other car manufacturers involved in F1 have been under the gun to help bail out grand prix hosts and they’re not buying it.I’ve talked at length about the Canadian Grand Prix troubles lately and with good reason. I felt that the cancellation was unjust and I had an idea that other hosts may follow the same lead and raise doubt in how races are financed and so far they have.

  • BMW Sauber Season Review: Where the Numbers Came From Part 1
Posted on Friday, November 7th, 2008 in Team News – Comments: (2)
Here’s my season overview of BMW Sauber and when and where the numbers came from. This is part 1 of 2. Part 2 will come tomorrow. When the F1.08 was launched way back in January, it was a radical change from the F1.07 and a big chance to take. I was anxious to see how the car would do on the track, but winter testing just doesn’t reveal a lot.
  • Brazilian Grand Prix Race Review: Hamilton Champion
Posted on Monday, November 3rd, 2008 in Race Results – Comments: (3)
This was more than anyone could have asked for in the final race of the season and one that decided the F1 championship. It was analyzed and scrutinized almost as much as the upcoming US election and it lived up to everything it should be. In the mix was a little rain and drivers not in the hunt for the title driving for their own championship.
  • My Thoughts Exactly Mr. Klien!
Posted on Tuesday, November 18th, 2008 in 2008-2009 Winter Testing – Comments: (5)
“It’s a sexy car isn’t it?” As it is at the moment it’s the worst Formula One car I have ever seen. It doesn’t seem like it fits, all the big wings and everything. But everyone will get used to it and it’s not how it will look in March.”Well, what do you think? I agree Mr. Klien, it’s pretty ugly, but then what do I expect.
  • New BMW Sauber Car on the Right Track
Posted on Friday, November 21st, 2008 in 2008-2009 Winter Testing – Comments: (4)
It’s only been 3 days of testing for BMW Sauber, but things seems to be going pretty well. The new car as it stands now has impressed the drivers. Nick Heidfeld had his first opportunity to drive with a KERS modified car and notices a big difference when he presses the button. It is estimated that BMW Saubers’ KERS system can deliver 80 more hp every time the button is pressed and get this, no one is getting shocked.
  • One of the Poorest Races for BMW Sauber
Posted on Sunday, November 2nd, 2008 in Team News – Comments: (2)
The Brazilian Grand Prix had to be one of the poorest races for BMW Sauber I have seen all season. Both Nick Heidfeld and Robert Kubica finished 1 lap down in 10th and 11th and both dropped down one position in the final driver standings.Things started badly for Robert when the rain came just before the race. The race was delayed about 10 minutes or so in hopes the rain would stop and the teams could change tires if they wanted to.
