Development Package for Spain Means Good Things to Come for BMW Sauber
ByFrom this package, more improvements are in development to address any further issues and will also be added throughout the season.
“Nobody in the team envisaged this start to the season,”
“We are far from happy with our performance. We are far from where we want to be, and are not measuring up to our own standards at the moment. The entire package is too slow.”
Theissen also makes clear one problem so far is the failure to get the most out of the car in qualifying. Hmm..does that mean that Kubica and Heidfeld carry some blame qualifying and/or does it mean the entire team hasn’t been up to par in exploiting the potential of the car in qualifying?
One reason that the team’s failings have been so visible in the last two races is that other teams have made improvements to their cars already. BMW Sauber had decided early on that the first development package would wait until Spain and be a significant one.
It’s a long way back to where they were last season and will be tough going to get there, but Theissen seems confident in what is being developed for Spain and so am I.

I think its not the drivers fault – in Bahrain this weekend they both did similar lap times to those from February. It’s just the car and setup issues. And im really hoping for improvement in Spain, but I will believe when I see it.
